Double 3Technically one of the most elaborate marbles that Hot House Glass creates. The "Double 3" is actually a six vane marble, hence the name, that is created by combining a variety of glass working techniques. The green, purple and orange colors seen in the marble are created by overlapping primary colors. The "Double 3" is part of our standard production and is available in 1/4 inch increments from 1 inch to 1 3/4 inches. Marble shown is approximately 1 3/4 inches. | Three LinersSet of three "Liner" style marbles with coordinating dichroic bands. This particular style of marble creates incredible moiré patterns as the marble is rotated. The "Liner" is part of our standard production and is available in 1/4 inch increments from 1 inch to 1 3/4 inches. Sizes are approximately 2 1/4 inches to 3 inches. Sold. | Circus MurriniPair of opaque "Murrini" style marbles is our "Circus" pattern. Created by stack fusing opaque sheets of glass that are then heated and stretched into a 5/8 inch square cane. The cane is then diamond saw cut into approximately 1/4 inch slices that are applied with a modified Australian Roll-up technique. Size is approximately 3 inches. Sold. |
Running BondAn additional example of our "Murrini" style in a "Running Bond" pattern. Created using the same technique as our "Circus Murrini". The number of patterns with this technique are virtually limitless. Sizes are approximately 2 1/2 and 2 3/4 inches. Rarely produced. Available, $300 to $350. | Half and HalfAn example of our newest style marble called the "Half & Half". As the name implies, this style is created by evenly dividing the pattern between the three color bands and lines. When turned into a marble the color bands cross to create secondary color combinations that did not exist in the original layout. The lines also cross to create wonderful moiré patterns. The color changing effect of this style is particularly pronounced in hand. | Burgundy PlaidA 12 cane 2 pattern example of our signature "Plaidicino" style marble. The "Plaidicino" originated from our attempts to replicate the complex woven patterns of traditional fabrics. The name is a combination of the word "Plaid" and the Italian word "Latticino" that is used to describe intricate cane work. Due to the time consuming and difficult nature of creating this style, they are created on a very limited basis and are prized by collectors. Sizes range from 2 1/2 to nearly 3 inches. |

By using multiple layers of the glass, we are able to achieve a three dimensional effect or illusion of depth that is difficult to capture in a photograph.
